Daily Greeting

I bought those Skinny Cow Fudge Sickles. Taste too good. I'm thinking buying one "real" fudge sickle, occassionally, might be better than trucking in a whole box of "low cal" treats. I find I do better w/one serving of a sweet in the house. We'll see. Any opinions on this subject? I know food shouldn't be a reward. But occasionally, I like to have a desert. Slippery slope though. Managing okay, for now.

I feel myself getting stronger. A month ago I couldn't do a plank. Now I can hold it with good posture up to the count of 8. I can even do a second set. I can do modified push ups now, even upside down on the ball. Not that many, but I couldn't do that at all last month. I find myself smiling more. That's huge. My mind will think, "I'm happy." That thought stuns me, given the last few years of losses. Exercise really does lift one's mood. I can't thank My Home Personal Trainer enough.

New week begins today, for me. I weighed myself. No change. Ah, well. I know the problem. Too much salt this week. Cookies added to daily meals, while within calorie allowance, sends my body mixed signals. Also, lost seventeen pounds in December. Body may be wondering, "Hey, whats up with that? Are we starving." No body, we're trying to save our life, lose the fat, and build some muscle. Soon the body will trust me again and allow the fat to disappear. No cookies this week, self. I promise.

I'm sliding down a slippery slope. Craving warm savory starchy comfort foods. Not preparing my "Save-theDay" soup. One good thing. Last night I would have slipped further down the slippery slope if I'd had any sweets in the house. I didn't. All I could find in my desperate search was a pre-measured snack of raisins. I left the pre-measured snack bags of nuts alone. After all, once one has enjoyed a pork chop and gravy dinner, one does not need more fat. (smile) Bored, I flossed for an hour.

I'm hanging in there with the ups and downs of my new life exercising and eating nutritious meals. I'm on a plateau. I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks, going on 3. Disappointing. Believe the plateau may be reason for the overeating on a couple of occasions. Losing weight made me feel good about myself. It was something I, ahem, could control! Not true. The body's in charge.

I'm weighing myself daily now. The scale isn't budging. I'm trying to use different incentive to keep going. I'm eating healthy for the first time in years. So even if I go over my budgetd calories, and I do, I know I've eaten nutritious food. I'm exercising 4-6 days a week. Weights, walking, QiKung, Yoga. I'm trying to improve my body image by saying positive things about the body I have right now. I'm falling asleep imaginging the changed body I'll have in the future.

I'm calling this no matter what week. No matter what I have to believe I can stay on track. I have to feel empty at night when I want to feel full with food. Send good wishes and prayers my way. It's uphill from here. Want to lose some of my fat stores this month, for goodness sake.
