Daily Greeting

I bought those Skinny Cow Fudge Sickles. Taste too good. I'm thinking buying one "real" fudge sickle, occassionally, might be better than trucking in a whole box of "low cal" treats. I find I do better w/one serving of a sweet in the house. We'll see. Any opinions on this subject? I know food shouldn't be a reward. But occasionally, I like to have a desert. Slippery slope though. Managing okay, for now.

hanging in there. today I'll do my exercises. tonight an audition for play. trying to get back into life after a break-up is always hard. but i've got to pick myself up, dust myself off, and start all over again. not easy at any age, but especially now it's just tough. oh well. what will be will be.

skating on thin ice. not being rigourous in any area of my life. work, food, exercise. i'm waiting for my life to change re: work, so I can return to being more disciplined re: food and exercise. i've stepped over the line re: calories; and not exercising every day. i feel a bit dazed and out of it. it's my nature to dream and get a little dazed and dreamy when i'm wishing hard for something I want to materialize. not saying it's a good strategy, or a smart one. just noting i'm frozen right now.

still odd to post myself a daily greeting. perhaps one day someone else will join me. my life is kicking off like gangbusters. i expect to have a new job soon. i'm active in my life auditioning for plays, seeing friends again for lunch dates after many years. i'm not on my "A" game with food and exercise, but at least i'm being concscious and aware. I expect to be back on track soon. I've already set up an exercise date for Sunday morning.

not much exercise these past few weeks. food leaning to bread-meat-fruit-cereal. during the work week i do eat my homemade soup which is vegitarian and loaded with greens, stringbeans, black beans, barely, peas, onions, bell peppers, celery, carrots in a tomatoe base. i always feel virtuous when I eat that meal

i lost five pounds. i'm over the moon. just ecstatic. oh, what joy. too, today I'm off to the gym with a friend to swim. not sure if i'll swim. but i'll definitely do some kind of workout while i'm there. yesterday at home, to prepare for a guest, i did housecleaning for several hours (4 to be exact). Lifting, hauling, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, bending. Whew! I had a serious stitch in myside at one point, and my back ached. But I didn't care. I was exercising--and all exercise counts.

i continue to reply to myself until one day a buddy appears to share their journey with me. I'm proud of myself for getting up last night at 9PM to do a twenty minute workout routine. I've really fallen off the wagon, of late. Eating above calories allotted. Not exercising for days at a time that have turned into two weeks. Load of excuses as to why. But in the end they're all excuses. Either I'm going to keep my word to myself, or I'm not. This week I'm comitted to exercise everyday, 20 minutes

treading water in lots of ways. paralyzed with fear as I await news of whether I'll get a new job I'm hopinng for. exercising 20 a day, no matter what, and that's a good thing. craving carbs to feed my heart not my hunger. that's a bad thing. keep bringing trigger foods in the house. trigger food defined as those foods that I WILL OVEREAT. i don't overeat vegetables, soup, hot cereal, meat, fruit, nuts, rye crackers. but if it's sweet/starchy and this week cheesy I'm all over it. message: stop.
