I am looking ot lose weight as well. I am hoping to lose 40 lbs through diet and excercise. I am starting with a personal trainer tomorrow and will share any insight they offer. What is your strategy?

I'll tell you what my plan is Richard...since 3,500 calories equals approx. 1 pound, then I'm to burn more calories than I consume in a weeks period. I figure I will lose a approximately 1.5 pounds per week with the program I'm on. SO FAR SO GOOD!!! I started on August 15th 3 1/2 weeks ago) and to date I've lost 7 pounds thanks to Rob and My Home Personal Trainer!!!!!!!

You are doing great and it appears you are doing it the right way. Slow and steady. I am using HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) coupled with weight training and better diet. Since I am hitting the weights I have upped my protein intake as well.

I have just recently started working out and although I don't see much as far as results on the scale, I figure that something positive has to be happening as I am really working hard. I think that diet will be the key. What are you doing to increase your protein intake? Any inexpensive or simple ways you have done that?

Well, it's nice to have someone else on here. I had wondered where everyone was. I've been doing the MHPT for several months now. I hate to be discouraging, but I haven't seen much change. I do have to commend Rob (the trainer) though, for always being willing to tweak things to try to make progress. The diet seems to be the key thing - or at least it seems to be, because JUST doing the workouts doesn't seem to cut it.

Hello..yes I am here!!!! I started my weight loss almost two yrs ago. I have managed to lose and gain but still 53 lbs under where I started. I have read many book and information about diets. Diet is not the word to use. If you plan on losing weight and keeping it off you have to make it a life style. Thjere are many ways to make these lifestyle changes. I will post here often and let you in on the way I am doing it. Take care and hope to hear back from you fellows.

I am not trying to lose weight, but maintain and build muscle (and emotional well-being) through the proper nutritional changes. Nobody out here now, but there may be more later so here goes...
